Coronado hockey kicked off the break with their first ever meeting against the newly formed Woodland Park Panthers. Andrew Burton started the scoring with an even-strength goal, on a pass from Ian Wark. Logan Dineen would follow his lead with his first goal, assisted by Cole Brooker. Seconds later, Ian Wark connected with Jack Cintron, putting the Cougars ahead by 3. Despite twelve shots on goal, Marc Godec took his team to the locker room with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Minutes into the second, Parker Taranto put the Panthers on the board with a break-away goal. However, the Cougars dominated the second period, keeping the puck in the offensive zone. After a barrage of shots, Jack Cintron connected with Logan Dineen for his second goal of the game. Frustrated, the Panthers found themselves short handed on a high sticking call. The Cougars capitalized with a beautifully executed power play goal for Andrew Burton, assisted by Cole Brooker and Logan Dineen.

Early in the third period, Cole Brooker got his chance on a break away, bringing the score to 6-1, Cougars. Lou Levy and his teammates attempted to make it a game, scoring the second Panther goal. However, goalie, Marc Godec had a great third period, denying the Panthers on thirteen shots. Ian Wark took away any hope of a come back with a break away, leading the Cougars to a 7-2 victory.
